Hugh M. Talman, MES, is a certified post-rehab, Medical Exercise Specialist and PMA certified, Polestar Pilates Instructor. He received an associate degree with honors in fitness instructor training at Monterey Peninsula College.
Hugh has experience working as a certified personal trainer and has studied anatomy, physiology and kinesiology as it relates to fitness. He has over five years of experience working as a clinical assistant/physical therapy aide in an orthopedic physical therapy setting. Hugh’s comprehensive Polestar training enables him to take into account faulty movement patterns, muscular imbalances and poor postural habits when assisting the Physical Therapist with the implementation of a patient’s therapeutic exercise routine.
He enjoys the natural integration of Pilates movement principles with rehabilitation, as well as the versatility and holistic mentality of the Pilates method.
After exercising and being involved professionally with the exercise field for several years, Hugh really appreciates the importance that is placed on the balance between strength and flexibility, and level of detail that is emphasized with Pilates. He hopes to help people bring more awareness of their bodies, achieving mindful movement and a strong foundation at the core that will last a lifetime.
